In December, my dear sweet husband decided that we should do a podcast. My first response, "NO." Why, because we tried to do a Tour Management podcast 2 years ago and it was NO FUN. He said he would make it fun and not so serious. So guess what, we have done a total of 6 podcast. We are trying to release one every Sunday (record and post). In less than a week, Jadin will be 5 months old. How quickly the time has already passed. He is grabbing his feet and putting them in his mouth now. He loves to laugh and play with Daddy and Mommy.

In June, we lost our sweet, faithful, and kind four legged friend. He had a heart murmur so it was a matter of time but we weren't expecting his passing so soon. We buried him in our backyard so we can "see" him everyday. We are missing him greatly.

We are enjoying exploring Nashville and the air conditioning in this heat!

These past few months have been filled with friends visiting, bonfire's, travels and new memories. In April, we had friends visit us from California. We went through downtown Nashville to visiting the Parthenon. In case you did not know, Nashville has a exact replica of the Greek Parthenon. So if you have a desire to visit Greece but not able to go, you can always come visit us in Nashville and still get the feel of Greece. We also got to go to the Grand Ole' Opry 2 months after I went into labor with Jadin there. It was great to be watching the show with our bundle of joy. May is also the month we celebrate Mother's day and I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful mother's day then to spend it with my son, husband, mom and brother. We BBQ'd a yummy dinner and had bonfire in our backyard.

As you may have heard, Nashville was hit with some bad flooding at the beginning of May. Thankfully, we were ok but much of Nashville was flooded pretty badly.

We wanted to share some updated pictures of recent visits and of Jadin.

First Easter, Airplane Ride and Trip to California!

Recently, we took Jadin on his first plane ride to California to visit the Sanchez side of the family. Jadin did very well on the plane as he slept most of the time! Jadin also had his first Easter. He was able to meet all his Aunty and Uncles and Cousins and of course Grandma and Grandpa. He was showered with lots of hugs, kisses and love. He enjoyed seeing his family and spending time with them. Here are some pictures from our trip out to California.

This past weekend, Jadin had his first road trip from Nashville, TN to Greenville, SC. Trini was playing bass at an Anne Graham Lotz event. He was playing with Fernando so we decided to make a family trip out of it. Jadin got to see downtown Greenville, SC. Here are some updated pictures of him as well as pictures from our trip and the conference.

We welcomed our first child, Jadin Trinidad Sanchez, on Sunday, February 28 at 9:28 p.m. He weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz and was 20 inches long.

The pictures reflect a little bit of the story that led to the birth of our first child. The first picture is from backstage at the Grand Ole Opry here in Nashville. We were there to see The Band Perry - a new artist that Trini has been working with. We were running a bit late and had never been there before and as a result were running around the building and up and down stairs looking for the VIP entrance. We finally arrived backstage to catch the last few songs being performed. When they finished, Kimberly Perry said, "Wouldn't it be great if you went into labor tonight at the Grand Ole Opry? It would be a great story!" Guess what? Thirty minutes labor I started having contractions. I had been feeling different pains the few weeks prior but came to the conclusion they were false labor signs. After being checked out by the Opry's EMT, we were advised to go to the hospital and so we immediately went for sushi (Sarah's idea). We waited outside in the restaurant parking lot as I layed in the back seat having contractions. Once our order was ready, we came home to eat and the contractions started getting closer together. By midnight we were heading to the hospital! I tried to go natural (no meds) but that lasted till about 6 a.m. and I could not take the pain anymore! After a long day of labor, our little boy joined us Sunday evening! I never felt so filled with emotion as when I held this precious little boy in my arms. Trini and I are beyond blessed with our little boy. I hope you all will be able to meet him soon! Here's just a few pictures of week 1! Thank you all for your prayers and support!

January Snow!

We have been in Nashville now for almost 2 months and have experienced 2 snow storms already. The people here say this is not normal, but I'm not sure I'm convinced! Today, came our 2nd snow storm and the snow is falling like you would not believe. We are enjoying every bit of this weather as we get a piece of the season's. You may see that our dog is exploring more out here! Also, I have 5 weeks left before our little one joins us! We are excited to meet him!

Finances, Having a Baby...are we really thinking about the future?

The past few days I have been researching more financial tips as we are planning a big move and having a baby. I found some interesting articles and websites that have been a good source of information. This is not just for people who are having babies but people in general who want to take control of their finances.

I started this search with this article I found on yahoo. The article is about a family that decided to go on a shopping fast, yes you heard that, a shopping fast. Now, I'm not a big shopper in the first place but I always like reading articles about how people figure out ways to save money or save wisely. Check the article out here.

Updates and News!

Since coming back from Chattanooga, Tennessee in September, exciting opportunities have came up. First, we found out we are having a BABY BOY! The due date has been changed to February 21st because the baby was larger than the original due date. We are so excited to welcome Baby Sanchez into the world next year! Also, some other news, we are moving to Nashville, Tennessee. There are some music opportunities for Trini out there and after seeing the cost of living and seeing how beautiful creation is out there, who wouldn't want to move! We leave at the end of November. If you are ever near the area, please come visit us, we'd love to see you. I think that is enough news for now. We look forward to seeing you all in the future. We will post pictures of the family and our big move in the next few weeks!

Thank you all for your support and kind comments about our new expectancy in March! We are very excited each day as my belly gets bigger! We took a trip to see my family in Tennessee. My mom was excited to hear the news that she is going to be a Grandma (or Hal-ma-nee in Korean). My brother is already calling the baby his nephew (even though we don't know the sex of the baby yet!). We were able to see some friends in Nashville during this trip and had an amazing Italian dinner. I've included some pictures from our trip.

Chicken Linguini

Last Saturday, Trini was playing with Molly at the Belly Up in Solana Beach, CA. We had dinner before the show at this restaurant close by. Some people ordered a Linguini dish. It looked delicious as I had wished I had ordered it. Instead, I tried making it. Last night, I looked through some recipes online and decided what and how I was going to make this. Here's my rendition of Chicken Linguini.

Feeds: 2 people
1/4 package of Linguini
1 onion
4 cloves of garlic (I love garlic so adjust as necessary)
1/2 package of frozen artichoke hearts (chop in half)
2 Roma tomatoes (this was on sale at the market)
1/4 cup of feta cheese
1/8 cup of pine nuts (roasted)
2 tablespoons of olive oil
salt & pepper to taste
2 chicken breast (marinated and grilled the night before)

1. Bring water to a boil and cook Linguini as package suggest (usually 7-8 minutes)

2. In a pan, heat up 1 tablespoon of olive oil, add chopped onions and garlic. Let them cook a little bit before adding the artichoke hearts. Let them cook for 4-6 minutes, then add chopped tomatoes. Pasta should be done by now, so add the pasta in the pan, along with some pasta water and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add salt & pepper, feta cheese and pine nuts. Place in dish and add chicken on top.

Time to make this, probably about 20 minutes. So easy, healthy and so delicious! Let me know if you try this. I'd love to hear feedback.

I first read this prayer a few years ago and wrote it down in my journal. Today, I was looking through my journal and found this prayer. This prayer comes at a good time to encourage us to step out and allow ourselves to be challenged and open to pushing ourselves. I hope this encourages you.

I guess the question of the day could be what have we been up to? We are blessed to be working at home and working on getting into some new adventures. Life can bring forced changes that may or may not be welcomed but the end product usually leads to growth and learning. Trini has been playing at church and also spending time in the studio. We did travel to Jacksonville, Florida for a JGMJ conference with Fernando Ortega. I always enjoy traveling with my husband and hearing him play. Beginning of the year is always full of celebrations and we have had many this year. We congratulate all the friends having babies this year! We would love to hear from you and would love to have you over if you are ever in the area!

Recipes approach

So after my last posting, a friend commented about posting some recipes that I have found to work. But, I first wanted to mention my approach to cooking during the week. The simplier the better. I usually take a meat, add a vegetable and either add rice, pasta or bread. For example, this week, we will be having chicken twice this week, fish once, shrimp once and will be out of town for the other days. Tonight we are having Fish with green beans, edamame and rice. I am going to cook the fish in a sauce that has onions, garlic, tomato sauce, chicken stock and parsley. It will probably take me less than 30 minutes to make this meal. Chicken recipes this week will be hot wings on one night (one of Trini's favorite) and asian style chicken on the other night. Shrimp will be cooked in tomatoes, feta cheese, garlic and olive oil. Planning out meals can be simple but you have to figure out what works for you. I hope to add more specific recipes that are treats for you and me...like banana bread muffins with a special topping.

March Madness

Well, it's been over a month since our last blog. I really would like to be updating our blog more often, but I can only try, right? We've been home these last few months working, playing, exercising and resting. Trini has been practicing quite a bit on upright and electric bass as I have been exploring new options on things to do. In February, I started planning out our monthly meals, not to the nitty gritty of the recipe but what main course we will be having on a daily basis. This has been challenging because we started to go to Costco to get all the meat that we needed for that month. Let me tell you how hard it was to purchase bulk and have our freezer completely full (actually flowing out of the freezer). I am not one to have this much meat in the house because I like to be creative with new recipes, therefore I would go out and get what I needed at the local grocery store every few days. But all in all, this has actually worked out really nice for us. I just find recipes based on the meat that I planned on cooking that evening. Along with planning meals, I've started making my own greeting cards. So - don't be surprised if your cards start looking homemade, I think this is a great way to be creative and add some extra love into the cards for YOU! We've been home now for a few weeks. We had our annual new year's get together with lots of yummy Mexican food. We, along with many Americans, have started to create a exercise habit. We are trying to mix in the kinds of exercise we are doing from walking, biking and the elliptical machine. So far so good...but being home means me cooking lots of different foods. I come to the realization that I really like to try new foods and really don't like to make ones I've made before. :) We are doing well enjoying the warm weather in Southern California. Trini has been playing bass and hoping to work on some recording projects. I am still working and enjoying my favorite TV shows this season (24, Lost, Bones and House). Finishing up the Tour this year, Christmas and other stuff!

This was the last tour for the year, we really did not take many pictures of the city except in Washington, DC. It was beautiful there to be walking around at night time seeing the White House, Washington Monument and National Christmas Tree. We finished off the tour with a Secret Santa party. It couldn't have been a more perfect ending to this busy year of traveling with these friends. We are home now and loving every minute of it. We are looking forward to some good cooking at Trini's parents house and then at my mom's. We want to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Catching up...

Our break in November quickly came and went. We spent time in Napa Valley, CA. One of our friends had there second baby, so we were able to spend some time with them. We cooked and had friends over. We had a great time at home and now we are out for the last tour this year. We are traveling mostly in the mid-west and east coast this time around. We have one week left. I haven't been good about taking pictures of the area around us but more of people this time around. I hope you will enjoy this brief update!

We have been home now for almost 2 weeks. The weather has been amazing here and I am so happy that the weather is starting to turn into fall. Atleast temperature wise it has. One investment Trini and I have made this year is in our bicycles. We decided to buy some beach cruisers earlier this year. We love to ride whenever we get the chance. We drive over to one of the entrances to the Riverbed in Orange County. The trail takes you all the way to the beach if you want to take it but we usually ride from 10 to 15 miles. Biking sure does bring back the days when we were kids! Well, other than biking, Trini and I have been enjoying spending time with family and friends and of course eating some of our favorite foods!

Finished strong in Brazil and we are finally home!

We are home! After a week in Australia, we spent 10 days in Brazil. We arrived in Rio de Janeiro and had a few days off and then headed to Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Porto Alegre. The Brazilians were very kind and friendly. They are know for there meat. We were able to experience some of the best meat in Brazil. The fruit was also fresh and juicy. Brazil is one of the countries that people seem to be curious about. I admit that I am one of those people. The country is tropical with rain on one day and sunny on the next. You can see some of the most amazing trees and birds. Even though Brazil is a considered to be a third world country, there are parts that you would never suspect that. And the best part of all, the music. We did go out to enjoy some samba music. If you have never been exposed to Brazilian music, try looking up Antonio Carlos Jobim. Well, this is the end of our world tour. We got home early this morning. There is nothing like being around the world but there is also nothing like being at home.

Australia was beautiful. Many of the times, the cities reminded us of coastal California. We spent time in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Perth. My favorite part of Australia was holding a koala bear and feeding the kangaroos. Our travels have been enjoyable. We are looking forward to being home soon. Traveling in Japan

So here we are now in Australia. We spent almost a week in Japan. We flew from London to Tokyo and had 2 shows there, took a bullet train to Nagoya and then finished off in Osaka. Japan is a great country. The people are very helpful and respectful. We managed to somehow eat while we there. We would go to places that had pictures on the menu and then pointed out what we wanted to eat to the waiter. It was quite an experience...it was definitely one of those times that we wished we knew the language. Hope you will enjoy some of the pictures of the cities in Japan.

Fall Tour Part I - Europe

We are starting out this fall on tour in Europe. I'm going to try my best to update the blog with pictures after each leg. We started the trip out in Zurich, Switzerland. Trini and I were able to walk around and eat some amazing food! After Switzerland we headed to Amsterdam. Because the city is so crowded, the government supports people using bicyles. I've never seen so many people riding bikes. People told us that it's too expensive to drive cars so they use their bikes like we use cars. After Amsterdam, we were off to Belgium for a day and then to Paris, France. This is my second trip there this year and this time we had a day off to go around the city. We were able to see the Eiffel Tower, which turned out to be quite a bit larger than I expected. Paris is beautiful and the food was just as yummy! After Paris, we had a quick trip to Germany, then to Portugal and finished off in London. We are in Japan now...look for updates soon! Here are some pictures from our time in Europe.

Fall Time is Near!

It is almost the middle of September and all I can think about is Thanksgiving and Christmas are around the corner! I'm so excited! Trini and I have had some time off at home these last few weeks. We had a chance to go our nephew's birthday party during this time. My brother came out for about a week to visit. Now, we are looking forward to our next tour. We also, celebrate our 2 year anniversary this month. Lots of exciting things going on. We'll keep you posted!

Back Home!

Trini and I are back at home enjoying our time off for a few weeks. When you leave for the road for weeks at a time, you start to value, even more, the little things of home. For example, our dog Kipper, we don't get greeted with a dog every morning when you are on the road...but at home he shakes his booty because he is so excited to see us! :) Other little things, cooking, I love to cook! We've been able to enjoy some of summer favorites like grilling out and eating korean bbq. This past week we went to the Fox Theater in Fullerton to watch Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Every month, the theater shows an old movie outside of the theater. Some friends of ours invited us and it was a fabulous time to be outside in good company. So here we are, looking forward to spending some time with friends and family before we leave. I also have to mention some VERY IMPORTANT news, in case you do not follow college football, the preliminary rankings were released and guess who was #1. Yes...the Georgia Bulldogs. I hope it stays that way this season! I think that is all for now. I'll post some pictures from the rest of this tour soon!

July 2008 On Tour and Travelling...

Trini and I are back on Tour. We started out in Mexico City, then made our way to Paris for a few days and then back to Atlanta. We got to see my family and eat some yummy Korean food! Since then, we've been on tour around the United States making our way out West soon! Recently, we had 4 days off outside of New York City. We made our way into the City to see the Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Time Square, Little Italy, the village and fit some good food in between. New York is a favorite of ours, so it was very nice to have the time off in a fun place! Here's some pictures.

Hello All! Well..the time has gone by so fast with Trini's time in Europe and Asia and now finishing up being on the road for 6 weeks! We've been all over the East Coast and the Mid West and looking forward to being home! I've added some of the pictures from April and May. Time flies when you are having fun! :) January went by so quickly as we had the chance to visit family, rest and hang out with friends. We are back on the road again working. Recently, we had the chance to go on a cruise to the Bahamas. Here are some pictures of us relaxing and working!

Well, we finished off the year on tour with a new artist, Trini working as a tour manager and front of house sound engineer. I was able to join him the last half of the tour helping him out and working on merch. This year has been great- with travels around the U.S. to Abbey Road in London to camping trips with family, Sarah turning 30, us celebrating our 1 year anniversary in San Diego and watching good ol' Georgia football. We had our annual taco fest last week, if you missed it, plan on it next year- January 1st! Trini's mom made 400 tacos..yes you read that correct 400 tacos! They were delicious as usual! So much going on, we hope to see friends before we are off to another adventure!
